What happens after the co-funding is approved?

After approval the process goes like this:

1. Signing the contract — you sign a co-funding contract with the Rural Development Agency, which sets the deadlines, amount and conditions.

2. Starting construction — the greenhouse must be completed within 18 months of signing the contract.

3. Staged funding — the funds are transferred in stages, according to construction progress.

4. Monitoring — the Agency periodically checks the progress and quality of construction.

5. Commissioning — after construction is finished, the greenhouse must be outfitted and start operating.

6. 5-year obligation — the funded greenhouse must be used for agricultural purposes for at least 5 years.

Can I build a greenhouse on leased land?

Yes, you can! You can use the co-funding program on leased land too, but a few requirements must be met:

1. Lease term — at least 10 years or more. Short-term leases are not accepted.

2. Lease agreement — must be notarized and registered in the Public Registry.

3. Land status — the plot must be free of liens or mortgages, and debt must not exceed ₾1,000.

4. Infrastructure — the plot must have an access road, irrigation water and electricity.

5. Owner's consent — the lease agreement must clearly state the right to build a greenhouse.

Important: the lease agreement is one of the program's key documents, so verify its compliance in advance.

How do I register in the Farmers' Registry?

Registering in the Farmers' Registry is the first and mandatory step to participate in the co-funding program. Step-by-step instructions:

1. Call the 1501 hotline — an operator will advise you and tell you which documents are needed.

2. Alternatively: visit the Rural Development Agency (RDA) regional center in your region — they will help you register on the spot.

3. Prepare the required documents: an ID card and a document confirming land ownership or lease.

4. After registering, you will receive a unique farmer number, which you need to submit the application.

5. Submitting the application: once registered, go to the programs.rda.gov.ge portal — this is where you submit the application electronically (it is the last step of the process, not the first).

Important: registration is free and takes 2–5 business days. Note: applications are accepted in Georgian only.
